Project €CO2-Management
Each customer as a future CO2-fighter with his individual CO2-footprint and Energie Graz are partner of this pilot project.
The pilot project "€CO2-Management" is the starting shot for the so far unique research project of industrial enterprises, scientific research institutions and energy companies. It should help the climate protection with reducing the massive consumption of CO2 and at the same time the end consumer can save both energy and money.
The Austrian Climate Fund supports this important step for the environment with 1.5 million Euro. 300 households in Graz, Styria and Klagenfurt act as test area.
With the installation of this new generation of meters, electricity, gas and heat can be metered by using an in-house display in the living space to make the consumption transparent.
With help of the CO2-footprint it is shown how much CO2 CO2 a household or an operator of a retail business is consuming. Also the supply of heat and electricity produced by installed solar thermal and photovoltaic systems can be factored into the measurement.
Part of the project is that customers can have a personal consultation with energy experts. Based on a documentation of past consumption habits proposals are developed on how the customer can save energy and CO2 in the future. In a one-year trial operation the customer is kept informed about his current energy consumption and the deviations from the consumption plan via phone and Internet. In this way climate protection is made visible and viable.
With the home automation system the customers have access to all metered data in detail, at any time. The customers can configure adjustments in that system on their own as well. With programmable eco socket-outlets all machines can be portioned to a temporal variable eco-tariff automatically. With the shifting of the several machines into a cheaper tariff-time costs can be saved by the customer.
